FORT LAUDERDALE (WKIS) – Legendary rockers the Doobie Brothers have been added to the lineup for the third annual Tortuga Music Festival. The band joins a bill that already includes Kenny Chesney, Zac Brown, Jake Owen, The Band Perry, Little Big Town and plenty of other country acts.
The Doobies last year released the album “Southbound,” a collection of duets with top country performers that featured a version of “Black Water” featuring Tortuga headliner Zac Brown Band.
The Tortuga Music Festival is set to take place at South Florida’s Fort Lauderdale Beach on April 11 and 12.
Tens of thousands of fans are expected to enjoy the sun, songs, sand and surf at this unique oceanfront event. The lineup also features the Cadillac Three, Trace Adkins, Sam Hunt, David Nail, Frankie Ballard, Chase Bryant, The Mavericks, Maddie & Tae, Nikki Lane, and more.
The Tortuga Music Festival takes place over two days and across three stages. Created together with the Rock the Ocean Foundation, the event serves to celebrate the festival’s oceanfront setting while raising awareness of issues impacting the world’s oceans and supporting marine research and conservation, as well as protect the festival’s namesake – sea turtles that nest annually along South Florida’s Atlantic seaboard.
This year’s festival will once again include a one-of-a-kind Conservation Village featuring interactive exhibits, information and tools to help protect the world’s oceans.
Last year’s festival drew more than 44,000 music fans from all over the world. Proceeds from 2014’s Tortuga Music Festival ticket sales and donations contributed more than $100,000 toward marine and ocean research and conservation organizations.
